With Above, people can plan their own routes, discover tours or import them from other apps and record their hikes. The route, photos, tour data, notes and summits they reached then stay together in a personal tour archive. The worldwide topographic hiking map is automatically prepared for offline use for planned tours. Above works without a user account, social feed, ads or subscription. After three free recordings, recording is unlocked with a one-time purchase.
Plan routes or bring them with you
Plan your own point-to-point or round trips directly in Above, discover hikes through the integrated hikr.org search, or import GPX and FIT files from other apps.
From plan to memory
The planned route, the path you walked, tour data, photos and notes stay together in your personal tour archive after the hike.
Automatic summit book
Above automatically recognises summits from recorded and imported tours. The summit book shows when and how often you were up there and which tours took you there.
Hiking map for the terrain
The worldwide topographic map shows terrain, difficult sections and important places. Your route and relevant map information are automatically prepared for offline use. Places can be found through search and reached by bearing or a calculated route. Official severe-weather warnings are shown before and during the hike when reception is available.
Private with no subscription
No user account, social feed, public profile, ads or ad tracking. Tours, summits, photos and notes stay on the iPhone and, if enabled, in private iCloud, and tours can be exported at any time. Recording is unlocked with a one-time purchase after three free tests.
